High Motoring Costs This Easter

Grim news for motorists planning a holiday either at home or abroad this Easter.
Last month The Car Hub team warned of car hire companies reporting of car hire shortages at holiday destinations this year especially abroad, we now have the AA issuing a warning of average pump prices expected to reach an all time high of £1.20 or more in the UK for the holiday weekend and also stating that UK motorists have been hit 5 times harder by increased fuel duty than other European countries.
The fuel price increase is caused by a two pronged attack, firstly on April 1st. In comes a further 3p per litre hike due to a fuel duty increase on top of an increasing cost of a barrel of oil which hit $82 dollars yesterday.
Anyone thinking of flying away from these issues over Easter will have to pay top dollar on their flights, which is normal on a Bank Holiday, so probably the next best option will be to get in the chocky eggs for the kids, a few cans from the offy and have the barby ready in case the sun shines. Happy Easter.
