The Great Dorset Steam fair is one of the Country leading steam traction events but still has a significant Classic car presence. One of the highlights of The Great Dorset Steam Fair is the old time steam Funfair. Annually, over 60 Showman's Engines with their gleaming, twisted, brass appear generating the light and power for the old roundabouts and swing-boats.
For all classics, based on Sledmere House in Driffield, Yorkshire. The weekend opens with the Tour of the Wolds Social Run on Saturday starting at Sledmere House. In the evening is a social gathering with the communal barbecue being lit at 7pm followed by entertainment in the marquee.
For those unfamiliar with the event, La Crofterra Pandemonia is a 2 day non-competitive touring event for historic, classic and sports cars run by the Highland Car Club in the Highlands of Scotland annually in September. Built on the site of a medieval priory for the Winn family from 1733 onwards, Nostell Priory is today a National Trust property.
