With a decline in the car market of 5% forecast by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)
for this year car dealers are expecting buyers to be very particular in their requirements.
With VAT pushing up the price of everything including car insurance and fuel costs, which are already at their highest ever, it is likely that the smaller more fuel efficient models will dominate sales. 
Car dealers who specialise in larger, pricier models will have to offer attractive deals to secure large sales numbers.
It’s going to be a tough year in the motor trade.
