Today BMW announced their latest sixth generation 5 series which will not leave the faithful BMW fraternity disappointed.
It’s a new muscular looking car, dare we say it, “a-man’s-car”. The headlights are similar to the new 7 series while the tail light units remind you of the earlier BMW5 fourth series.
This new BMW will incorporate BMW’s first non-hybrid Brake Energy Regeneration system which stores power from braking into a heavy duty battery which is the available to run the car’s ancillary functions which in turn saves fuel.
Also onboard is BMW’s iDrive which feeds information into a dashboard display on climate control, audio and navigational data.
As an option there is also BMW’s Park-Assist which will alert a passing driver of a suitable sized parking space and then take charge of the steering allowing the driver to simply operate the accelerator and brakes.
If you’ve got circa £25k treat yourself to a 520d SE will should transport you an average of 55mpg.
