If you are an avid MG fan then the only place to be between June 4th and June 6th  is Silverstone race track where the first public outing of the new MG6 will take place before it finally goes on sale in November.

New MG6 For Longbridge

Chen Hong the president of the Shanghai Automotive Industries Corporation (SAIC), who own the rights to the MG name, announced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China yesterday that their new MG6 will be produced at Longbridge.
The first sales will begin next spring with models built in China, these should be followed by British built cars in late 2010 or early 2011.

M.G. Car Production Halted

News very hot off the press (2 hrs ago) is that MG sports car production has been halted at the Longbridge plant near Birmingham.
This very bad news came in a statement saying there would be no further production “until the spring”.
The Chinese parent company of MG said they could not deny that there would be no redundancies.
Big question now is, will the plant ever reopen?
